What is Animal Osteopathy

Just as people suffer from stiffness, soreness, wear and tear, arthritic conditions and degenerations so do animals.

Osteopathy is complementary to veterinary care and has a holistic approach to treatment which works to realign and balance the animal’s musculoskeletal system, restoring health and movement, soundness and performance.

Which animals can be treated?

Animal osteopathy is proving effective and successful with show jumpers, dressage horses, eventers, racehorses, agility and obedience dogs and family pets. But not just horse’s and dogs, many pets can be helped too.

Owners notice a problem with their animal’s performance or general demeanour. Osteopathy is used to treat such symptoms as Reduced performance, loss of speed or knocking poles. Behaviour changes such as bucking, rearing, biting or bolting. Gait problems. Reluctance to canter on certain reins. Reluctance to perform normal activities such as jumping into the car, chasing a ball or sittings. Problems with head carriage, head tossing. Rehabilitation after injury.
